Airship Solutions designs its products using computer modeling. The benefits of the modeling are substantial, and are most apparent in the performance of our airships.
The modeling is used to design the airship with the correct lift/weight and thrust/drag ratios required by our customers, combined to provide maximum balance and maneuverability.
The design of our standard range of small, medium and large outdoor operating airships meets 80% of our customers requirements. When there is a need for increased endurance,
range, lifting capacity or altitude, we work with our customers to ensure the product meets their requirements.
Airship Solutions is the only manufacturer or R/C blimps or airships that manufactures blimps through computer design.
Our hulls are designed to handle at speeds, in transitional flight and in a hover.
The shape of our hull is an aerofoil, as the airship transitions from a hover to forward flight, our hulls start to generate lift. The lift that is generated over the hull
is on the same axis as the engines position. We balance our airships around the engines which are located, where the dynamic lift is generated over the hull. This also enables
customers of airship solutions to change power plants (electric 5kg, two stroke 5.5kg, four stroke 6.1kg*) in minutes, and have almost identical flight performance.
The lift of the airship is based on the angle of incidence, and the speed the airship is moving at. There are many benefits for this design, primarily, stability at all speeds.
Whether the airship is in a hover, or moving forward at 30knts, the trim on the airship is basically the same.
The large fins on our airships provide for an incredibly tight turning circle. Utilizing various flying techniques, the natural turning circles can be reduced even further. The balance of the airship
provides the ability for our airships to climp or descend vertically, giving comfort to our operators.
Each of the airships has had operation logistics considered in the design. Since transportation of the airships to events has been the single most difficult hurdle for blimp/airship operators, the development of the 13ft and 20ft outdoor models has been our primary goal.
The 20ft model can be transported in the back of a standard sized truck 8x8x20ft ( 2.4x2.4x6m )complete
and ready to fly, and the 13ft can be transported in an even smaller trailer, or be inflated from the trunk of a car.
